4K Akira Home Release on November 30

Manga Entertainment has announced that it will release a home edition of the new 4K version of Katsuhiro Ōtomo's 1988 film Akira on November 30.
It will be a Limited Edition set containing a 4K Bluray, a standard Blu-ray, and a third Blu-ray disc with extras, including a storyboard collection. The set will also include a 40-page booklet, with features including a round table interview with the Japanese cast and sound director. It can be pre-ordered at the above link.
The 4K Akira is currently playing in cinemas in the UK and Ireland.
The film was originally released in Japan in 1988, directed by Katsuhiro Ōtomo and adapted from his own epic manga. The website describes the film as follows:
"Neo-Tokyo, 2019. The city is being rebuilt post World War III. Kaneda and Tetsuo, two high school drop outs, stumble on a secret government project to develop new weapons - telekinetic humans. Tetsuo learns of the existence of his 'peer', Akira, the project's most powerful subject, and determines to challenge him..."
