posted on by Egan Loo
Not-So-Daily Link of the Day: Tokyo's Fullmetal Alchemist Spring Carnival '09 event on April 4 will premiere the first episode of the new Fullmetal Alchemist anime series — but only to people who bought the 68,250-yen (about US$704) Fullmetal Alchemist Box Set -Archive- DVD set for the first anime series. The Box Set -Archive- collection contains all the footage of the first Fullmetal Alchemist anime adaptation, including the television series, the theatrical film, and the Premium Collection videos. It also contains a postcard to apply for event passes; the event organizers will hold a drawing with the submitted postcards, and the 5,000 winners will get to go the event.
Voice actresses Romi Paku (Edward Elric), Rie Kugimiya (Alphonse Elric), and other special guests will take part in a talk show during the event. The box set's distributor, Aniplex, had hinted at the plans for the event by announcing in August that "new special footage" would be screened there.
