Game Developer FromSoftware Establishes New Studio in Fukuoka

Video game developer FromSoftware announced on Saturday that it is establishing a new studio in Fukuoka in October. The company plans to start operations in the new studio in January.
The company stated in its press release:
FromSoftware has been actively developing video games for various platforms and they will continue to do so. The establishment of the new studio will expand their development capabilities to create globally competitive products.The Fukuoka studio will focus on creating 3D CG assets for games while working closely with the original studio in Tokyo.
Kadokawa announced in April that its board of directors decided to acquire 80% FromSoftware and make the smaller company a subsidiary.
FromSoftware developed the Armored Core franchise, the Dark Souls franchise, the Tenchu franchise, and other popular game titles for consoles and portable systems. The company was established on November 1, 1986, and it has 268.5 million yen (about US$2.6 million) in capital. As of October 2013, it has 230 employees.
FromSoftware will release Dark Souls III in Japan for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in Japan on March 24. The company will reveal the PC release date and the overseas release dates in the future.
