Well, there is always "bug zapper."

I thought that as a Level 5+ easer Misaka could write whatever ticket she wanted for the "scientists" of Academy city. So she really doesn't need an independent job but if she wanted to she could be a private, very well paid enforcer.

Of course she will probably just be a non-paid volunteer at some orphanage or something. She's already rich from her family she doesn't need an income.

Advertorial, guess that is another word for advertisement. Interesting enough. The accompanying images were nice too.

She could always join the military, or how about accelerating small satellites into orbit.

What kind of silly question is this?

Best job for railgun is WAIFU.

Holy crap. I genuinely enjoyed this. Someone nominate this guy (gal?) for a copywriting award, now!

(I guess Saten's doomed to be a minimum-wage worker, though.)

So, what's up with this "ad"? Are we to expect more of this sort of thing in the future? Is this indictive of the state of ANN's finances? I can't say I see this as a good sign, but maybe I'm reading more into it than I should.

They have done seven Advertorials since April.
It is just another advertising format.

I like those that I have read.

The difference is that this time around it isn't as much about an event as it is a single specific product.

The others have credits; We know who this one for for but not who this one's buy.

However, if we're going to be realistic we're going to have to recognize the fact that Mikoto Misaka is Academy City's most powerful Electromaster. She's one of top three level five espers, showing the ability to transform to level 6 at times.

But they really know the problems with this franchise, whoever they are. Vegeta? What does the scouter say?

"Power levers are bulls****!"

Domo. Even "most powerful electromaster" is head scratching. It's the reason she's called Electro rather than Railgun?

"Electromaster" is the name of her power -- everyone who can manipulate electricity is an electromaster. "The Railgun" is the nickname she's known by around the city. It's kinda like how "governor" could be any governor, but "The Governator" is a nickname referring to a particular governor.

As far as how they rate powers, they do actually have pre-set criteria for each type of power that they measure people against on a regular basis to determine their power level (e.g. joules of electricity), but it definitely gets into apples-to-oranges territory when for instance they say she's ranked #3 among Level 5 Espers below a guy who can change the direction of waves and particles and above a girl who can use an electron beam to melt things.

The best job for Mikoto is on another continent from me, because I don't want that crazy psychotic b**** anywhere near me.

You want her as a waifu? Your funeral.

So I didn't know what an advertorial was about until I read that last paragraph, which came out of nowhere.

Interesting timing considering the recent ANNcast. Unplanned I'm sure, but it makes for an interesting coincidence.
I don't mind these advertorials though. They're clearly marked with an as an AD (as opposed to Feature, Column etc) and if they bring in more money for ANN, why not.

For me,any of these girls would make a fantastic secret agent or superheroine. And that little sentence was written with my tongue planted in my cheek. Laughing
