A rare case of big in Japan and nowhere else despite films, a long-running anime (with issues) and one of the most dedicated fan translations of all time.

Anyone who still says the anime has issues after season 1, clearly shows they never got past the CG in season 1. Since then, its been fantastic.

As someone who watched from S3 onward & skipped everything before that, I wouldn't consider this anime adaptation to be "fantastic". It's slightly below average at best imo. The animation is quite subpar & most wide slashes are depicted as rays of light convering about a third of the screen which if I had to guess, is for censorship reasons. It still fails to capture the raw essence of war shown in the manga. Though, the voice acting is pretty damn good, I'll give it that.
