but this is still the most affordable that The Garden of Sinners has ever been.
Not quite, remember when the movies were available for rent on the PlayStation Store?

At the time though, Recalled Out Summer didn't exist, and also, Gate of Seventh Heaven is forever exclusive to that first more expensive Blu-ray Box (the standard BD re-release re-uses the discs from the original BD Box, but excludes the disc with Gate of Seventh Heaven).

It's not Fate related and it's still mostly unaffordable in the U.S., even though it is in the Nasuverse, only diehards want it.

Actually it is Fate related..even characters from Kara no kyoukai get referred to in Fate/Zero and Fate/Stay night

An alternative for the firmly anti-Anime Strike might be importing the UK limited edition box set. It's going on Amazon and eBay for about $70 right now, which isn't bad for a limited box set of seven movies.

(Of course, this requires having a region-free player of some sorts, or having the hacks available to make your current device or computer region-free.)

Are we sure this is indeed the complete collection? That there won't be more superfluous epilogue OVAs or pointlessly padded movies?

I brought this on DVD sometime ago, but I only ever saw up till... The one people like the most. There was nothing wrong with them, but I for whatever reason didn't have the motivation to watch the rest.

The last one came out four years ago and nothing's been announced since, so it seems doubtful.

However, any anime fan knows that doesn't preclude the possibility of additional content eventually being added. At this point I think they'd have to continue to focus on spoiler[Mana] to do anything additional, but I'd definitely watch that.

Well Mahou Tsukai no Yoru and Kara no Kyoukai kicked off the "Nsasuverse".

Hands down the worst anime series I ever seen that somehow made a lot of success. The only good things about these movies were visuals and music. It has the worst characters I ever seen in anime (Touko and Kokutou),and it's out of sequence order of movies doesn't help it either.

This series would have been shut down if it were made in west, because it breaks so many unwritten rules and simple practices that make good storytelling possible. Simple things like introducing the characters, flashing out character backgrounds, character motivations or explanation of the things that happend in the story were missing or were told in a hurry, and instead directors focused their attention on visuals.
Even after finnishing all the movies, there are still a lot of things that doesn't make sense, or were left unexplained or things and characters that were brought up once but never brought up again after.

All the characters behaved unnaturally and made questionable decisions.spoiler[ For example in 2nd movie Kokutou witnesses a murder, but instead of helping the victim or calling the police, he helps to protect the murderer. He even falls in love with that murderer who wants to kill him.].
Touko character knows answer to every question in the universe. She know the things she doesn't suppose to know. She knows more about the crime scenes than the people who were present there, even though she never left her office. She is literally an embodiment of Dumbledore's wisdom, yet she is only probably like 30 years old hot chick.

There were a lot of times when the drama seemed out of place or forced up on us. (Mainly 1st and 4th movie). Characters (mostly Shiki) tried to look as cool as possible in every situation even though some other emotion was reqired. Characters were pulling answers moves and answers out of their ass and story was full of plot holes. All these things wouldn't be a problem if the show wasn't trying to be adult and serious as possible.

While there were some better moments in the series(mainly in the 5th movie), everything felt like it was made by a bunch of amateurs who never directed any series before. It's an example of how not to tell a story.

It can be extremely dialog heavy so I wouldn't mind re-watching with a dub. I'd enjoy watching without it feeling like I'm reading a textbook. Not that I expect a dub, just one of few anime I'd watch wishing there was a dub.
